Majestic LynxDrawings, India Inks
This dark portrait of a lynx is purely graphic. One day I hope to come across a wild lynx, seeing that they exist in Europe. This wild animal is very cautious regarding the unknown and inspires me. I see him as the successful evolution of the domestic cat. The purely graphic aspect of the lynx is because I imagined him as a dandy dressed in his attire ready to face the world. Baroque, Indian and other cultures without any particular choice of period inspired the interlacing. This graphic aspect reminds us of how wild and varied the lynx’s habitat can be.
I’ve photocopied this drawing multiple times and stuck them up in the streets of Paris. There are quite a few on the left bank, around the Marais and near Montmartre.
